DEGARIAN GLOVER-FORD

Founder & CEO

Degarian Glover Ford, Founder of the Glover Foundation, was born and raised in the Fifth Ward of Houston, Texas an area rich in culture and history but also faced with many challenges for young people growing up there. As a child, Degarian witnessed firsthand the lack of mentorship, educational resources, and positive opportunities available to many youth in his community. Too often, young people felt that gangs or negative influences were their only path.

These experiences shaped Degarian’s vision and fueled his passion to create something different for the next generation.

He founded the Glover Foundation with a mission to give young people what he wished more children had growing up: mentorship, guidance, educational support, and a safe place to belong. Degarian believes that when youth are given the right opportunities, positive role models, and a supportive environment, they can overcome obstacles and achieve their full potential.

Through the foundation’s afterschool programs and community initiatives, Degarian works to inspire youth to believe in themselves, stay focused on their education, and make choices that lead to brighter futures. His goal is to show young people that their circumstances do not define their potential.

Degarian’s dream is to one day open a community center dedicated to youth development a place where children and teens can receive academic support, mentorship, life skills training, and participate in programs that keep them engaged and focused on the right path.

For Degarian, the work of the Glover Foundation is more than a nonprofit—it is a commitment to his community and a promise to help the next generation succeed.
